Known quirks

id_format info — Registration numbers are a 1–3 letter prefix + 4–10 digits: BC (provincial corp), FM (firm/partnership), CP (cooperative), A (extraprovincial), XS (society), LL (LLP). Case-insensitive; hyphens/whitespace stripped on input.
search info — search_companies routes by input: a valid provincial ID goes to an exact-match topic lookup; anything else goes to an autocomplete search, dedups by topic id, then fetches each topic. Historical/dissolved entities are always included.
other blocker — get_officers, get_persons_with_significant_control, get_shareholders, list_filings, get_charges, get_officer_appointments, search_officers, and document endpoints all return 501 — the credential ledger does not expose these fields. A separate paid provincial business API is required for directors/filings.
status info — Native status codes: ACT → active; HLD → inactive; HIS/HCN/HCO → dissolved.
other info — Profiles carry credentialed attributes only (entity_status, entity_type, home_jurisdiction, registration_date, entity_name_effective). addresses[] is usually empty because address credentials are not consistently issued.
